From a mandatory internship to SAP process manager

Muhammed Emin, 26 years old

PORR Equipment Services, Central Office – Digitalisation team

When I arrived in Austria in 2017, I started with German lessons to prepare myself to study IT at UAS Technikum Wien (Vienna). During my mandatory internship at PORR Equipment Services (PES), I acquired valuable experience and was excited by the work and the team. These positive impressions reinforced by desire continue working at PES after securing my Bachelor’s degree.

However, I needed a Red-White-Red Card (work permit) to be allowed to work full time and continue my career in Austria. PORR Equipment Services helped with this by issuing a job offer, which meant I could apply for a Red-White-Red Card. I received my work permit after about four months and started work at PES in 2022.

In my current role in the Digitalisation team, my work focuses on the logistics modules in SAP R/3 and SAP S/4 HANA, concentrating in particular on the SAP S/4 HANA transformation. My main responsibilities comprise test management for SAP Fiori apps and producing Microsoft Power BI dashboards. I’m also the Process and Identity Manager for SAP.

I particularly enjoy the relaxed, appreciative atmosphere in our team and the wide-ranging opportunities to develop professionally and take on new challenges.
