Our Digitalisation team is based at Central Office. We work to digitalise processes, possess SAP expertise, produce apps, publish training videos and much more besides.
Achieving meaningful increases in productivity has always been one of our primary goals. The value of our digitalisation measures are often immediately apparent, particularly when they reduce processing time, such as by removing the need to post paper documents when placing orders internally and externally.
The business processes in PORR’s equipment environment have been transformed since the introduction of SAP in 2015. PORR Equipment Services (PES) became the first operator in the construction industry in the German-speaking world to adopt UI5 applications in SAP to manage its processes. Our employees can use SAP Fiori on their iPhone, tablet or work terminal, and we strive to refine this solution.
This means people can get out of the office and go to work where things really happen – in workshops and warehouses, at mechanics’ yards and on construction sites. What’s more, we can do it all with far less paper.
The entire equipment life cycle, all maintenance measures, all materials management processes and company refuelling sites are now extensively automated, digitalised and accessible via apps.
Instead of being sent manually via email, many PES documents are now processed in defined steps – including in SAP – and dispatched automatically to suppliers and customers. We also source data from external databases through a range of APIs.
Optimising and digitalising our processes ensures that our employees can devote more time to their actual duties. This makes work much more enjoyable!
