On 6 and 7 November 2023, we received two new pump containers – one each day – equipped with a TW800 triplex high-pressure pump from Tecniwell. The two newly purchased pumps replaced existing equipment, meaning that PES has maintained its stock of 16 pump units while modernising its inventory. These pump units have a Volvo diesel motor with a rated output of 565 kW and can generate maximum pressure of 900 bar and a maximum flow rate of 950 litres per minute. The entire unit comprising a diesel motor, gear mechanism and pump body is housed in a 20-foot container.
One of the two new containers is already in use on the Hamburg U4 underground rail project. The pumps are used as part of the jet grouting method: the soil is broken apart with a high-energy stream of cement-water suspension, which creates a “soil concrete” structure in the soil. PORR Spezialtiefbau GmbH specialises in this technique.
